Membership of the Nhulunbuy Community Library are only permitted if you have been based in Nhulunbuy for more than 6 months and proof of ID and address will be required. Library members can borrow up to 10 items at a time: books for four weeks, and magazines, videos, DVDs, CDs and CD-ROMs may be borrowed two at a time for two weeks. Users are encouraged to let the library know if they haven’t got what they need—it may be possible to borrow from Darwin or interstate, or purchase them for you to borrow.

Assistance: We can help with researching your family history, tracking down old newspaper articles, or finding that elusive book. Anything, just ask!

Languages: Books in languages other than English are available.

Computers: Computers are available for research, e-mail and word processing—all for free! Photocopying and printing is 20 cents per page.

E–information: Free electronic information via library subscriptions is available, eg e-books for kids, encyclopedias for school assignments, family health and medical information. This is accessible from the library or the library web page (www.lyl.nt.gov.au).

Training: Free training is available for those interested in learning how to use the Internet and send emails.

Displays: The library has display space available to promote your club or activities.

Newspapers: Northern Territory, national and international newspapers available in print or online.

Book exchange: Bring along your old books and swap them at the free book exchange.
