    The inception of Clubs Day in Nhulunbuy was to bring our wonderful clubs and associations together, showcasing the vast selection of activities our town has to offer. Whether it’s team sports, individual pursuits, theatre, radio, speedway, motocross, or our dedicated emergency services, Clubs Day highlights the incredible opportunities available within our community. It brings together our volunteer base, the happy, passionate people who generously give back to our town and provides our community with an outlet from the day-to-day grind. It inspires the next generation to dream big and perhaps become the next Geoff Huegill or Will Chambers. Clubs, associations, and volunteers are a pivotal part of our culture and our community spirit. The 2026 Clubs Day is once again one of the highlights of the Nhulunbuy Corporation calendar and yesterday should have put a smile on our faces,  what a fantastic turnout we had! Thank you to everyone who participated and came along to be part of such a special day. Our community is stronger because of you.

    COME JOIN OUR TEAM AS AN PLANT OPERATOR. The Nhulunbuy Corporation is seeking a professional, positive and engaged individual to join our small team. As an integral part of ourinfrastructure team the successful candidate will provide exceptional support to our team whilst conducting all works/operations witha positive attitude and in a safe manner. Your application should include a CV and covering letter stating your interest and suitability to the primary dutyrequirements details in the position description, with a minimum of two professional references.This full-time Band 4 level position has an expectation to work 9 day fortnight with RDOs and possible on-callhours as required. The position will commence as soon as possible.The position is afforded remote-area-travel-allowance, generous superannuation, annual leave loading. Thisposition is offered as a permanent full-time position.  Local applicants preferred, accommodation offered with this role for the right applicant.

    Exciting Update - Lions Park Playground

    We’re thrilled to share that the new Lion’s Park Playground is nearly complete! Over the past three weeks, our contractors AXSA Group have worked tirelessly, often starting as early as 3am to beat the rain and make up for earlier machinery delays. Their dedication and determination have been outstanding, and we’re incredibly grateful for their effort in bringing this space to life for our community. What’s next? Custom shade sails are being built specifically for this playground Expected arrival: approximately 4 weeks Installation will take around one week Once complete, the playground will be officially opened IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE The area remains an active work site and is barricaded off. Please do not enter or use the playground at this time it is still unsafe for the public.   Thank you for your patience. We know many families are eagerly waiting and we truly believe this playground will be worth it.     Trail Closure Notice: Town Lagoon

    Please be advised that the end section of the Town Lagoon Nature Trail is closed until further notice.Recent high-water levels have caused flooding in several areas of the trail, significantly increasing the risk of crocodile activity in and around the path. Community members are encouraged to continue enjoying the sections of the trail that remain open, whilst keeping an eye out for our not so friendly neighbours 🐊.For your safety:🛑Do not enter the closed sections of the trail👀Supervise children at all times🐕‍🦺 Keep dogs on a lead and well away from the water’s edge🐊 Always stay Crocwise and assume crocodiles are present👁️ We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates once water levels recede and the area is considered safe for public access.🙏 Stay safe, everyone.
