How to Apply for Minor Building Works
Check if your project qualifies
Before starting any work, review the exemption criteria under Building Note 114 (BN114). If your proposed works meet the applicable exemption requirements, you may be eligible to apply through the Minor Building Works process rather than obtaining a Building Permit.
Complete the Minor Building Works Form
Fill out the Minor Building Works application form and provide all required information about the property, proposed works, and applicant details.
Submit your application
Lodge the completed form and any supporting information with Nhulunbuy Corporation for assessment.
Application assessment
Nhulunbuy Corporation will review the proposed works to ensure they meet the relevant requirements and can be approved under the Minor Building Works pathway.
Receive approval
Once approved, you may proceed with the works in accordance with any conditions issued by Nhulunbuy Corporation.
Complete the works
